OpenTherm Gateway USB Type (UK Stocked)
The OpenTherm Gateway is based on an open source project by Schelte Bron. More details on the OpenTherm Gateway can be found on the OTGW (OpenTherm Gateway) website (http://otgw.tclcode.com/) and a dedicated section on the Domoticz forum (https://www.domoticaforum.eu/viewforum.php?f=75).
The OpenTherm Gateway uses the OpenTherm Monitor software (Windows laptop or Linux device) to see, log and even change the data transfer between the OpenTherm Boiler and the OpenTherm Thermostat. The ability to see the data transfer can be a really useful tool in diagnosis of issues with the boiler, thermostat or operation of the system.
Mike Walton (who builds the OpenTherm Gateway for us) has produced a video on how to install the OpenTherm Gateway onto a Windows Laptop (https://youtu.be/Rx-rUxzMN8Q). The OpenTherm Monitor software can be downloaded from the OTGW website (http://otgw.tclcode.com/download.html#utilities) and simply click on the 'otmonitor.exe' to download the Windows software.
When you first plug the OpenTherm Gateway's USB into a Windows 10 laptop, you may well need to update or install the driver (if OpenTherm Monitor software doesn't work), however if you go to Windows Update, it should automatically do this for you.
